Cookie Policy

How ClearHowGuide uses cookies and similar technologies.

This Cookie Policy explains how ClearHowGuide may use cookies, local storage, analytics signals, security technologies, affiliate tracking, and similar tools to operate, protect, improve, and support the website.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

1

Minimal by design

ClearHowGuide aims to keep cookies and similar technologies limited, practical, and transparent.

2

No advertising cookies for now

We do not currently use advertising pixels, behavioral remarketing, or personalized ad tracking on the public site.

3

Future changes will be disclosed

If we add advertising, consent tools, newsletter tracking, or other non-essential technologies, this policy will be updated.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites can store on your device. They can help a website remember information, support security features, measure usage, keep preferences, or enable certain functions.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts, server logs, tracking links, security tokens, and other browser or network signals.

2. How ClearHowGuide currently uses cookies

ClearHowGuide is designed as a lightweight, static-first website. At the moment, our goal is to use only the technologies needed to operate, secure, measure, and improve the site responsibly.

We do not currently use Google AdSense, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, remarketing pixels, or behavioral advertising cookies on the public site.

3. Types of cookies and similar technologies we may use

Category Purpose Examples Consent status
Essential technologies Operate the site, deliver pages, route traffic, prevent abuse, and maintain security. CDN, firewall, security checks, technical server logs. Usually required for the site to work or remain secure.
Security technologies Protect the website from bots, attacks, spam, abuse, and suspicious traffic. Cloudflare security cookies or challenge-related signals when enabled. Usually treated as necessary for security.
Analytics technologies Understand aggregate site usage and improve articles, navigation, and performance. Umami Analytics, page views, referrers, device/browser categories. Currently designed to be privacy-friendly and cookie-free.
Preference technologies Remember user choices, such as theme preferences, if used. Local storage for light/dark/auto theme mode. Used to provide a user-requested preference.
Affiliate technologies Attribute purchases, signups, or clicks to ClearHowGuide when affiliate links are used. Affiliate network links, referral identifiers, campaign parameters. May require disclosure and, in some cases, consent depending on implementation.
Advertising technologies Support ads, measurement, personalization, or sponsorship reporting if added in the future. Ad network cookies, pixels, conversion tracking, consent management tools. Not currently used; consent may be required if added later.

4. Essential and security technologies

Some technologies may be necessary to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, maintain performance, route traffic, and keep the site available.

ClearHowGuide uses Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, security, performance, Pages, R2 assets, and related infrastructure. Cloudflare may use certain cookies or similar technologies for security, bot management, traffic routing, challenge handling, or abuse prevention when those features are active.

These technologies are generally used to keep the website functional, reliable, and protected.

5. Analytics

ClearHowGuide uses Umami Analytics to understand general website usage, such as which pages are visited, how users arrive at the site, and which devices or browsers are commonly used.

Umami is intended to be a lightweight, privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics solution. We use it to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors or build invasive advertising profiles.

If analytics settings change in the future, or if we add analytics tools that use cookies or require consent, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where needed, add an appropriate consent mechanism.

6. Theme preference and local storage

ClearHowGuide may use browser storage to remember a visitor’s theme choice, such as Auto, Light, or Dark mode.

This preference is used only to improve the browsing experience and apply the visual mode selected by the user. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

7. Affiliate links and tracking links

ClearHowGuide may use affiliate links in some articles. When you click an affiliate link, the external merchant, affiliate network, or partner may use cookies, tracking links, referral identifiers, or similar technologies to attribute a purchase or signup.

These technologies are usually controlled by the third-party merchant, affiliate network, or partner website, not by ClearHowGuide directly.

You can read more in our Affiliate Disclosure.

8. Advertising and sponsorships

ClearHowGuide does not currently use personalized advertising cookies or remarketing pixels on the public website.

If we add advertising networks, ad measurement, sponsorship reporting, or personalized advertising technologies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and add any required consent tools before using those technologies where required.

9. Third-party websites

ClearHowGuide may link to third-party websites, tools, apps, services, products, merchants, affiliate partners, or advertisers.

When you leave ClearHowGuide and visit another website, that website may use its own cookies and tracking technologies according to its own privacy and cookie policies.

We do not control third-party cookie practices.

10. Managing cookies in your browser

You can usually manage, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you clear cookies, block third-party cookies, or choose how websites store data on your device.

If you block all cookies or storage technologies, some websites may not work correctly. ClearHowGuide is designed to remain as lightweight as possible, but security or functionality features may depend on certain technical signals.

11. Cookie banner and consent

At this stage, ClearHowGuide does not use a full cookie banner because the public website is designed to avoid advertising cookies, behavioral tracking, and invasive profiling technologies.

If we add non-essential cookies, personalized advertising, conversion pixels, or tracking technologies that require consent, we will update the site and provide an appropriate consent mechanism.

12. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when ClearHowGuide changes its tools, analytics setup, advertising model, affiliate practices, security features, or legal requirements.

The updated date at the top of this page shows when this Cookie Policy was last revised.
